- Authorised reporting: Reporting is focused on “Open” plenary sessions (as confirmed on the official media schedule) and activity facilitated within the Media Centre. Media access will not be granted to other areas of the building. Please note that Q&A is strictly limited to the Media Centre. There will not be an opportunity as part of the plenary sessions in the main hall.
- Respecting privacy: To protect the privacy of delegates, all other areas of the forum, including lobbies and corridors, remain private. We ask that media personnel refrain from making approaches in these areas to preserve the spirit of open dialogue that makes the EWF unique. All interview bids must be submitted through the EWF Media Centre. Under no circumstances should conversations overheard in public or private forum spaces be reported; these are to be treated as strictly off-the-record.
- Privacy and professionalism: The distinction between public sessions and private forum spaces is the foundation of our partnership with media outlets. Any reporting of “off-the-record” content or any unauthorised interactions will be deemed a breach of trust and will result in the immediate revocation of credentials for the individual and their parent news organisation.
- Intellectual integrity: EWF values depth over sensationalism. We expect a commitment to accuracy that reflects the nuance of global policy discussions and the complex landscape of international education.
- Strategic relevance: Media engagement should prioritise news-making insights that align with the forum’s mission. We encourage reporting that elevates the global conversation and fosters international cooperation.
- Mandatory attribution and citation: To maintain the integrity of the programme, all content—including interviews, data points and policy announcements—originating from the event must explicitly credit the Education World Forum.
- Story generation: Each day is themed to align with the core pillars of the 2026 event. If there is a specific angle that your outlet would be interested in covering, our Media Manager is here to support you in finding the interviewees and/or insight/data from partners you might require.
- Exclusive access: Accredited media will have full access to the dedicated Media Centre, specific plenaries, and will be the first to receive major announcements via press release and images.
- 1:1 interviews: Opportunities with VIP speakers and high-ranking delegates will be released on a rolling basis.
- Location: Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Broad Sanctuary, London SW1P 3EE
- Theme: Educating for a shared future: Peace, planet, purpose and pathways
- Access: Media accreditation is required for access to the forum and the 1:1 interview booking system
Media Centre
This year, EWF is opening its doors to accredited media through a curated programme to offer journalists unprecedented access to the leading voices in the sector. Find out more below.
Guidelines
Access and protocol
To ensure an environment in which global leaders can engage in the candid, transformative dialogue necessary to advance education, the Education World Forum maintains a clear framework for media engagement:
Code of conduct
Accredited media representatives are expected to uphold the EWF code of conduct, centred on three core principles:
Print/Digital: Mention “Speaking at the Education World Forum” or “Source: EWF 2026”.
Broadcast/Video: Visual or verbal acknowledgement of the forum is required during any interview conducted on-site.
Registration and access
Why attend?
Unlike in previous years, EWF 2026 is opening its doors to accredited media through a curated programme from 18 to 20 May. This new approach offers journalists unprecedented access to the leading voices in the sector.
Accreditation
Accreditation is reserved for members of the press working for bona fide media organisations, and capacity is limited. Registration of interest opens on 16 March 2026.
To register your interest in securing a press pass for this year’s Education World Forum, please contact the Media Manager, Carina McKeown-Johnson.
As part of the accreditation process, you will be required to commit to the EWF media code of conduct. You may also be required to submit proof of employment, recent work samples and/or information on your outlet such as circulation figures.
Please note that non-compliance with the code of conduct will result in the revocation of accreditation for the individual or the entire organisation at current and future forum events.
