Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh

Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is the Minister of Education for the Republic of Ghana and the Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region. As a member of parliament he has served on numerous committees including Health, Appointments, Special Budget, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation. Before taking up this position, Dr Prempeh was the CEO of Keyedmap Services Limited — a company with interests in the security, communication and energy sectors. He also worked as a Medical Doctor in Ghana and the United Kingdom and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of the United Kingdom. Dr Prempeh studied Human Biology and Medicine in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and holds a postgraduate Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences. He furthered his studies at Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University, where he studied Leadership and Government.
