Hon Deng Deng Hoc Yai
Minister of General Education and Instruction, South Sudan
Hon Deng Deng Hoc Yai was appointed to his current position in 2016 and has designed and delivered numerous learning programmes for young and adult learners. Prior to his current role he was Minister of the Environment from 2013 to 2016, Undersecretary, Ministry of General Education and Instruction from 2011 to 2013, Executive Director, South Sudan Anti-corruption Commission from 2009 to 2011 and Director General of Special Programmes in the Office of the President from 2006 to 2009. He has also worked as an Equalities Policy Advisor for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL), a Tutor at the British Refugee Council and has contributed to the work of other numerous non-governmental organisations in voluntary capacity. He has a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Cairo and a Masters in Second Language Materials Development from Luton University, UK.
