Diana Dalton

Deputy Director, Research and Evidence, Department for International Development - DFID Research Hubs

Diana Dalton has been a Deputy Director in the UK Department for International Development’s Research and Evidence Division since March 2017. Diana leads on the strategy and performance of the Division as a whole, in addition to having management oversight of DFID’s research investments in the following sectors: education, growth, governance, humanitarian, and con ict and social development. Since joining DFID in 2005 Diana has held a number of leadership roles both in the UK and overseas. Posts have included Head of the UN and Commonwealth Department, Head of Agriculture and Economic Inclusion and Deputy Head of the Bangladesh of ce. Prior to joining DFID she undertook various roles in international development including Country Director for a UK NGO focused on Thailand and Burma, and Head of Communications and Advocacy for the International Save the Children Alliance. She is now based in Edinburgh, Scotland
